Passive Transport: Osmosis

 

Objectives

• Observe the relationship between diffusion and solute size

• Observe the passage of water through semi-permeable membranes through osmosis

• Observe and analyze the changes that occur in plant tissues incubated at hypotonic, hypertonic, and isotonic solutions

• Observe and assess the effect of water potential on osmosis and calculate the concentration and water potential of plant tissue
