To investigate magnetic force on a current-carrying wire positioned horizontally in an external magnetic field between the pole faces of a magnet
To understand the magnitude and direction of the magnetic force acting on a current- carrying wire in the magnetic field
To measure the deflection angle of the wire with respect to the vertical plane due to the magnetic force on the wire

When an electrical charge moves with velocity ‘V’ in the magnetic field ‘B’ perpendicular velocity ‘V’, then Lorentz force which was given after Hendrik Lorentz, will act on the charge in the direction perpendicular to both the velocity and magnetic field vector. The directional sense of the force vector is given by the right-hand thumb rule. You will be studying all the essentials about magnetic force, don’t forget to collect your data to see your improvement.
